One of the most fundamental parts of the nation`s history is “Pancasila.” Pancasila, which means “five commandments,” was agreed as a philosophy and a fundamental nation for the implementation of the State of Indonesia. This agreement was born out of the awareness of all elements of the nation to live together to build a country and a nation together. I am proud to be an Indonesian people with great wealth, and we must preserve it, take care of it and deal with it, perhaps if only the reimbursement of the name is logically still acceptable. And that`s not a principle. Therefore, the most logical and content in historical reasoning is to draw this “Pancasila” in its original document, namely the Jakarta Charter and its modifications some time later. It`s clearer and more responsible. On 30 May, it was the turn of Islamic Representative Ki Bagus Hadikusumo, who is also president of PB Muhammadiyah, to deliver his speech. Then, Professor Soepomo presented his idea in his speech of May 31. On the last day of the trial, on 1 June, it was Sukarno`s turn to present his ideas. In this speech, Sukarno introduced the terms “Pancasila,” “Trisila” and “Ekasila,” which he suggested as the basis of the Indonesian state. All parties are satisfied with the outcome of the agreement.
In a speech on 9 July 1945, Sukarno himself described the Jakarta Charter as a gentlemen`s agreement between nationalist and Islamist groups. This statement is welcomed by almost all parties. Islamic groups that are persistently fighting for Islam as the foundation of the country in the Muslim-majority country have also endorsed jakarta`s charter. Each party already feels properly represented in its own interest. Signatures signed by Sukarno, M. Hatta, A.A. Maramis, Abikusno Tjokrosujoso, A.K. Muzakkir, Agus Salim, A. Subardjo, A. Wahid Hasyim and Moch. Yamin as a representative of all political groups became proof of the noble agreement. The Jakarta Charter itself was born out of a struggle and dialogue between different groups and elements that will be part of this nation in the future.
This dialogue is not monopolized by violence. There was no intervention from some foreign parties, including the Japanese, who founded their own BPUPKI. Each makes arguments and elegantly argues against each other as leaders who deserve to be exemplary. No individual interest and self-interest will sacrifice the interests of the nation itself. The atmosphere of the dialogue was so open that after 22 days of convening the Jakarta Charter document was finally agreed, most of which became the opening and torso of the 1945 Constitution. The debate on Pancasila should always be done to refresh the conscience in the context of nationality and the state. This awareness is very important to remember and achieve the common goal of the construction of “Indonesia” agreed since August 17, 1945. Often, the existence of Indonesia is taken for granted, it exists for itself, without history, without agreement and is ultimately considered to still exist. In fact, reality is not always like that. The largest Islamist group on this change is the largest.
